Would you like to be involved in an exciting programme of economic development opportunities that are being developed in the Borough?
This is an exciting time for Pendle. Over £35m of growth and regeneration funding is being delivered in our towns including support for business, skills and our town centres. You will be involved in supporting programmes and initiatives funded by these programmes, and using your skills to plan and implement other initiatives which support our people, place and enterprises. You will take a lead on delivering the Economic Growth action plan and seek out opportunities to leverage in other funds and inward investment to facilitate greater economic activity in the Borough. The post would provide a great opportunity to be involved in a broad array of activities relating to the economic health and prosperity of Pendle, including managing a team to deliver those.
The ideal candidate will be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and have at least three years’ experience of successful work in economic development, including project delivery.
Pendle is in Lancashire’s scenic Pennines, close to the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, and Manchester.

Local Government Reorganisation
The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, Pennine and West Lancashire from April 2028.
If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Pendle Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to Pennine Lancashire from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.

Salary range
- £39,862 - £42,839 per year
