The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (MCA) is seeking to appoint a Policy Manager, to join the Policy team. Your key responsibilities in this role would be to ensure a focus on delivering the priorities of the Mayor to deliver for the West of England by:

Leading the Policy input to the development of directorate plans, strategies, business cases and funding bids to ensure regional and Mayoral priorities are reflected and a single narrative flows through all that we do. This role will cover all policy areas.
Developing and owning strategic narrative on core areas of the work of the organisation- Using evidence to develop policy proposals, working with service leads to identify priority actions, drawing on the overarching organisational strategies and evidence and analysis provided by the Economic Analysis Team to ensure effective targeting of activity.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading on the development of policy proposals on cross cutting issues, in support of the delivery of regional and Mayoral priorities, coordinating the input of colleagues.
- Enabling effective partner engagement, including maintaining oversight of government engagement within areas of responsibility, ensuring consistency and visibility.

The salary for this role is £52,413 - £55,722. This is the full-time equivalent salary, and will be pro-rata for part-time. We advertise salary ranges for job roles, with new appointments for external candidates typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, where higher skill levels or experience are applicable, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate. This approach allows for potential year-on-year salary increases, offering progression and appropriate rewards to employees.
