The Role

As our Policy and Engagement Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of strategic decision-making. You’ll lead the development of key policies and strategies, translate complex legislation into actionable plans, and drive meaningful consultation and engagement with our communities.

This is your chance to influence the future of two councils, working closely with senior leaders, elected Members, and strategic partners to deliver real change.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the creation and review of strategic and corporate policies
  • Provide expert advice on policy development and legislative impacts
  • Design and deliver high-impact consultation and engagement activities
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making
  • Present complex information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Support senior leaders with briefings, reports, and presentations

What We’re Looking For

  • A strategic thinker with a strong background in policy, research, and engagement
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to influence and inspire
  • Politically astute and confident working in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Skilled in project management, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration
  • Degree-qualified or equivalent experience, with a commitment to continuous learning
