The Role

As our Policy and Engagement Officer, you will be at the heart of strategic decision making – crafting impactful policies, coordinating meaningful engagement with communities and championing equality across two dynamic organisations.

This is your chance to influence the future of two councils, working with senior leaders, elected Members, and strategic partners to deliver real change.

What You Will Do

  • Help shape the strategic policy framework and author key corporate policies.
  • Undertake research and horizon scanning to inform future policy direction.
  • Design and deliver meaningful consultation and engagement activities.
  • Analyse and report on feedback to drive service improvements.
  • Provide expert advice on the Public Sector Equality Duty and Equality Impact Assessments.
  • Help embed inclusivity in policy design.
  • Support the development of EDI strategies and initiatives.

What We are Looking For

  • A strategic thinker with a background in policy, engagement & equality, diversity & inclusion
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to influence and inspire
  • Knowledgeable in the Public Sector Equality Duty and able support services in using Equality Impact Assessment.
  • Experienced in designing and delivering consultation and engagement activities that generate meaningful insights
