Creswell Infant and Nursery School is a nurturing and inclusive school located near Bolsover.

We currently welcome 189 pupils from Foundation Stage 2 to Year 2, along with a 48-place nursery offering 15-hour provision. Guided by our Christian vision - ‘Together with God, we shine in all we do’ - we are a dedicated team with the ambition of championing every child, where each is celebrated, nurtured, and given the opportunity to shine.

The Headteacher and Governors would like to recruit a Playworker for our new After School Club.

The successful candidate will join us as soon as possible, you will work each school day, after school. Hours to be confirmed but expected to be 3.00pm to 6.00pm.

Whilst this is a fixed term contract for 12 months, we hope to extend as we develop the club.

About the role:-

Working alongside the After School Club Lead, you will support and assist in the day to day operation of the after-school club. The club is new for our school, and we hope to welcome 10 / 15 children initially. With your help, increasing our numbers and developing the club through the year.

  • You will plan, organise and deliver play activities, which are interesting, fun and appropriate for the age group.
  • You will lead activities, perhaps sports crafts and games.
  • You will supervise children and ensure their safety and wellbeing.
  • You will prepare snacks and drinks, administer first aid, set up and clear equipment.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children in a play or educational setting and/or hold a relevant qualification, perhaps childcare, coaching, playwork.
  • Have knowledge of appropriate play activities, sports, games, crafts, stories, songs and dance etc.
  • Have a food hygiene certificate, or willing to complete.
  • Have a first aid certificate, or willing to complete.
  • A basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
