Longstone Primary School is seeking to appoint a warm, enthusiastic, and motivated Playworker to support the successful running of our After School Club, working alongside the Play Leader.

Our After School Club provides a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where children can relax, play, and enjoy a range of activities at the end of the school day. We are looking for someone who brings energy, creativity, and genuine care for children’s wellbeing. You will work as part of a friendly and supportive team to ensure every child feels welcome, included, and engaged.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children of all ages, has a positive and flexible approach, and is excited by the opportunity to contribute to a lively wraparound care setting.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of engaging play opportunities and activities
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, cooperation, and inclusion
  • Building warm, supportive relationships with children
  • Providing a safe environment and maintaining safeguarding standards
  • Preparing simple snacks and supervising snack time
  • Offering a listening ear and promoting children’s wellbeing
  • Assisting with setup and tidy-up of resources and spaces

Hours:

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 3.15pm – 6.00pm

This role is fixed term for 12 months due to pupil numbers and funding, we are hopeful that this post is likely to be extended.
