Play Worker – After School Club

Creswell Infant and Nursery School is a nurturing and inclusive school located in the heart of an ex-mining community near Bolsover. We currently welcome 192 pupils from Foundation Stage 2 to Year 2, along with a 48-place nursery offering 15-hour provision. Guided by our Christian vision - ‘Together with God, we shine in all we do’ - we are a dedicated team with the ambition of championing every child, where each is celebrated, nurtured, and given the opportunity to shine.

The Headteacher and Governors would like to recruit a Play Worker, for a new project. In the Spring term we will be introducing a new after school club, and along with our Breakfast Club facility, this will provide full wrap around care for our children. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to be involved from the start!

The successful candidate will join us as soon as possible and no later than the April term, you will work each school day, after school. Hours to be confirmed but expected to be 3.00pm to 6.00pm.

Whilst this is a fixed term contract for 12 months, we do hope to extend

About the role:-

Working alongside the Wraparound Leader, you will support and assist in the day to day operation of the after-school club. Delivering activities, which are interesting, fun and appropriate for the age group. You will lead activities, perhaps sports crafts and games. You will supervise children and ensure their safety and wellbeing. You will prepare snacks and drinks, administer first aid, set up and clear equipment. You will build strong relationships with our parents and the teaching team.

The ideal candidate will:

· Have experience working with children in a play or educational setting.

· A relevant childcare or play work qualification.

· Knowledge of appropriate play activities, sports, games, crafts, stories, songs and dance etc.

· A food hygiene certificate, or willing to complete.

· A first aid certificate, or willing to complete.

· A basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
