    Job introduction

    We are looking for a Play Development Deputy Site Leader to join our Play and Youth team to supervise a small team in the absence of the Site Leader to ensure safeguarding procedures in the day to day running of Portsea Adventure Playground.

    Your new role

    You will be responsible for supporting children by delivering high-quality play activities to encourage children to play, and ensuring the smooth day to day running of the playground.

    Who is the person summary:

    The role requires a strong understanding of the diverse needs and abilities of children and young people, with the capacity to engage them in a playful, outdoor environment. It involves delivering a wide range of creative, physical, and nature-based play activities, while recognizing the value of risk in play. The ideal candidate will be approachable, resilient under pressure, and skilled in communication, numeracy, and IT. A commitment to safeguarding and health and safety policies is essential, along with flexibility to work across multiple sites and varied schedules, including weekends and school holidays.

    The ideal candidate will also have some knowledge of maintenance and repairs for ongoing maintenance of play equipment, as well as a clean full driving license with MIDAS, although these are not essential.
