
Planning Support Manager

We are looking for someone like you to join our team! If we are a good fit for you, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across the Planning Service, supporting the delivery of high‑quality developments, driving service improvements and helping shape an effective, customer‑focused planning support function.
What will you be doing?
Leading and managing the Planning Support team to ensure high‑quality, timely and effective service delivery relating to the validation of applications.
Overseeing performance management and staff development.
Providing guidance, support and problem‑solving for staff and colleagues across the Planning Service.
Contributing to service improvement projects, resource planning and the delivery of key performance indicators.
About you
As an ideal candidate, you will have:
Knowledge and experience of the town and country planning system, particularly from a validation perspective.
A degree or HND in management or a related discipline (a management qualification is desirable).
Experience managing teams, allocating work and overseeing resources and budgets.
Strong understanding of performance management and the use of computer information systems.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with customers, colleagues and elected members.

Salary range
- £41,506 - £44,804 per year
