Andover
These are dynamic times in Test Valley as we meet the challenge of accommodating the new housing and commercial growth we need to plan for across the borough, and deliver masterplan led regeneration projects in Andover and Romsey.
Test Valley comprises a diverse and attractive natural and built environment including the North Wessex Downs National Landscape, historic town of Romsey, and the River Test, along with largest settlement of Andover which is the commercial centre of the borough.
We are therefore hoping that you will join us to help deliver what our communities and unique environment needs
Following internal promotion, an opportunity to join the Council as a planning assistant has become available in the Northern Development Management Team. For this role, you will be educated to degree level and will need to demonstrate a keen interest in Planning along with enthusiasm and commitment to continuing your own personal and professional development. You’ll work in a well resourced and supported Planning and Development Service and will have good communication skills, have the ability to interpret legislation, to understand complex issues, to be diplomatic when needed; and to produce high quality written reports.
Bringing a fresh perspective to our well-established and friendly team of professionals, we also welcome constructive and respectful challenge with the aim of continuously improving the service for our residents and businesses.
