About the service​

Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council has embarked on an exciting period of strategic improvement and development. ​

Serving children and young people with SEND and their parents and carers is at the heart of what we do. The EHC Service is well established and team members are friendly, supportive and welcoming. ​

Placement and Planning Officer​

As Placement and Planning Officer, you will support the Placement, Planning and Performance Manger in the tracking of placements and funding for children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans. ​

Finance experience, good communication skills, data accuracy and the ability to effectively prioritise your workload are essential for this role, as is the ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales. Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice​would be an additional benefit.​
