Rate: £15.71 per hour
Hours: 4 hours per week - Thursdays or Fridays, or possibly the weekend (to be discussed with the PA), during school holidays there will be more flexibility to include Mondays to Wednesdays as well
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: 21st May 2026
An active young person requires support with activities from a Personal Assistant.
Role Requirements
You will be required to support the client with going to and trying new activities and new foods, and with the activities they currently enjoy.
The client likes:
- riding their scooter
- swimming
- hiking
- skiing
- travelling
- dog walking
- gym
- gaming
- cinema
- going to town and the pub
- yoga
- going to McDonalds
They have an assistance dog called Tesla, and a cat called Neo. Tesla helps them when they are accessing the community. The client has a Motability vehicle and a driving licence therefore it is not necessary that you can drive.
They dislike:
- noisy environments
- getting up early
- having their routines interrupted or changed without notice
- surprises
- not knowing where they are going
- people shouting
- being excluded
The client has been diagnosed with:
- Autistic spectrum sisorder
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
- Sensory processing disorder
- Convulsive syncope
- Systemic hypotension (they need to drink 3 litres of fluid before noon)
They need to be spoken to using simple and straightforward language, time to process information and to respond, and it is important to check that they have understood what is being asked of them.
