    Please note that this position is being offered on a part time basis, on a fractional contract, offering 9.25 hours per week. The expected pattern of working days and hours can be seen below and will be discussed / confirmed in the interview. Ideally, we are looking for the successful candidate to start work in September 2025 but for the right candidate this could be later in the year.

    Working Pattern:

    • Tuesday: Morning, Afternoon and Evening Sessions at ACL Basildon
    • Thursday: Evening Session at ACL Basildon
    • Friday: Morning or Afternoon Session at an Outreach location in / around Brentwood

    The Role

    Adult Community Learning is seeking a passionate and motivated individual to deliver our dynamic range of Digital and ICT courses. Whether you're a qualified tutor or someone eager to train and grow into the role, we welcome your application.

    Our curriculum spans from beginner-level digital literacy to advanced Level 2 Microsoft and Level 2/3 Cybersecurity courses, delivered through flexible models including classroom-based, online, and hybrid formats.     Overview

    ACL Essex is the largest provider of adult education in the county. Our aim is to provide learners with as many ways to flourish as possible, to be there in communities across Essex, to make a difference to residents and businesses, so they can make a difference for themselves and to the places that they live in.

    • You will receive a salary of £30,377 per annum, full time equivalent / equal to £15.74 per hour. The actual salary for the 9.25 hours per week is £7,594.25 per annum

    Accountabilities:

    • Motivate and inspire learners to promote achievement and develop their skills to enable progression.
    • Plan and deliver effective learning programmes for diverse groups or individuals in a safe and inclusive environment, following ACL safeguarding procedures.
    • Address the needs of learners and work creatively to overcome individual barriers to learning.
    • Enable learners to share responsibility for their own learning and assessment, setting goals that stretch and challenge.
    • Apply appropriate and fair methods of assessment and provide constructive and timely feedback to support progression and achievement.
    • Maintain and update your teaching / training expertise, vocational competence, and digital skills.
    • Contribute to organisational development and quality improvement through collaboration with others.
    • To initially assess learners' starting points and monitor their progress, set challenging tasks and objectives, and build on and extend learning for all learners.
    • To support learners to develop personal, social and employability skills for them to progress into further learning or jobs that meet local and national needs.

    The Experience You Will Bring:

    Essential:

    1. Nationally recognised teaching qualification or teaching / training experience and subject specialism equivalent.
    2. A good knowledge of the RARPA process (recognising and recording learner progress and achievement in non-accredited courses).
    3. Competent user of ICT.
    4. Ability to inspire, motivate and raise aspirations of learners through your enthusiasm and knowledge.

    Desirable:

    1. Good understanding of social and cultural diversity, equality of opportunity, inclusion, and safeguarding.
    2. Minimum of Level 2 in English and maths.

    Salary range

    • £7,594 - £30,377 per year
