We have an exciting opportunity for a Parks Improvement Officer to join us!

This is a full-time, fixed-term role with hybrid working, and a salary of £32,962 to £36,791per annum.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Parks Improvement Officer to join our team delivering neighbourhood services.

The Role:

This role will report into the Parks & Open Spaces Contracts Manager and will identify, plan, manage and deliver a portfolio of projects to improve parks, play areas and green spaces. This includes, managing stakeholders, contracts, and budgets, working within legislation and policy to create safe, accessible, and high-quality outdoor areas for the public. The role will also support the policies, strategies and service improvement initiatives of the Parks & Countryside team and the wider council.

Your role will involve:

  • Identifying new parks, play area and green space improvement schemes.
  • Dealing with all aspects of the projects including the design and tendering process.
  • Managing project budgets.
  • Working collaboratively with a range of colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Attending site meetings and ensuring community engagement is carried out.
  • Assisting with enquiries and complaints.
  • Conducting park and playground inspections.
  • Producing project highlight reports and updates.

What we are looking for:

  • A proven record of delivering infrastructure/ physical environment projects.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Able to collate and analyse data quickly and accurately.
  • Good problem solving skills and an innovative attitude.
  • Excellent use of ICT.
  • Ability to draft reports and produce visual presentations.
  • A proactive approach to meeting the needs of the service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
  • The ability to prioritise and organise a varying workload.
