The Role

The role is based at Ilkeston Town Hall. As a Paralegal, you’ll support our solicitors with:

  • Preparing legal documents and bundles for court.
  • Assisting with land and property transactions, including leases, tenancy agreements, and land ownership queries.
  • Conducting legal research and helping to advise internal departments.
  • Supporting debt recovery and ensuring financial processes are followed.
  • Registering titles, notices, and restrictions with HM Land Registry.

You’ll also manage your own caseload of simpler property transactions and liaise with departments across the council.

What We’re Looking For

  • Ideally a law degree, but at least A ‘Level qualified or equivalent legal qualification or relevant work experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Comfortable using IT systems and conducting research-based tasks.
