
Out of school playworker
Shavington Primary School is looking to appoint an After School Club Support Worker to join our caring, committed team and help create a welcoming, enjoyable end to each child’s school day.
Our Before and After School Club is a vibrant, friendly environment where children can relax, play, and take part in a wide range of activities. From creative crafts and construction to outdoor games and free play, we offer a space where children feel safe, supported, and happy — and where positive relationships really matter.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- A warm and confident communicator who enjoys working with children
- Positive, reliable, and proactive, able to create a calm but fun atmosphere
- A team player who can also use their initiative
- Ready to help children feel settled, engaged, and valued at the end of the day
Key responsibilities
- Welcoming and supervising pupils during afternoon sessions
- Setting up and leading activities that encourage play, creativity, and social interaction
- Supporting routines such as snack time, tidy‑up time, and transitions
- Ensuring a safe, positive environment in line with school policies
- Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues

Hours: 10 hours a week (3.30pm to 5.30pm Monday to Friday)
Weeks: 38 (term time only)
