    The Post

    Are you ready to take the lead in shaping financial systems for a forward-thinking council? We’re looking for an Oracle Systems Accountant to act as the Council’s professional accounting and systems lead for Oracle Cloud.

    This is a pivotal role where you’ll bridge the gap between finance and technology, ensuring robust financial processes and data integrity across our Oracle Cloud platform.

    You’ll be the go-to expert for system upgrades, troubleshooting, and delivering data-driven insights that inform key business decisions. If you thrive on solving complex problems and driving innovation, this role is for you.
    The role will lead and optimise Oracle Cloud financial systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Configure budgeting tools, resolve issues, and deliver advanced reports.

    Acting as the key liaison between finance teams and Oracle Cloud Support, driving automation, system enhancements, and data integrity. Providing strategic financial advice, oversee statutory reporting, and mentor staff while leading cross-functional projects.

    The Person

    We are looking for an individual who will act as the key liaison between finance teams and Oracle Cloud Support, driving automation, system enhancements, and data integrity.

    You will play a key role in bridging the gap between Finance and IT, ensuring financial systems are accurate, integrated, and well-controlled.

    Provide strategic financial advice, oversee statutory reporting, and mentor staff while leading cross-functional projects. A CIPFA-qualified professional (or equivalent) with hands-on Oracle Cloud expertise across Financials, EPM, and Projects.

    Proven leader in financial systems within complex organisations, combining deep knowledge of accounting and statutory reporting with advanced data skills in OTBI, SQL, and BI Publisher (or similar technologies).

    Experienced in driving strategic improvements, managing budgets and teams, and influencing stakeholders through clear communication and actionable insights. Skilled at identifying and resolving root causes to prevent recurrence.
