
Official Veterinary Surgeon
This role is based at our Border Control Facility on the Sevington site, near junction 10A of the M20 and ensures that the customs and transit checks complies with statutory duties to safeguard public health. We are now looking for a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) to provide authorised officer presence acting as an Official Veterinary Surgeon (OVS).
You will be responsible for undertaking a range of statutory duties to safeguard public health such as carrying out checks on imports and exports of Products of Animal Origin (POAO), including Fish and Fishery Products and Products of Animal Origin Not for Human Consumption (NfHC), along with undertaking checks including organic food, illegal unreported and unregulated fishing.
