    We are currently looking for a proactive individual to join our Natural Environment Team within our Town Planning service.

    The team is responsible for ensuring that development is delivered in a way that protects and enhances the natural environment, which includes trees that are protected by Tree Preservation Orders.

    The successful applicant will support the Natural Environment Officer within the team by carrying out site inspections, reviewing applications for works to preserved trees, handling tree preservation order records, and providing general advice to the public and potential applicants.

    The post holder will have an interest in the natural environment, particularly arboriculture. We are looking for someone with knowledge of different tree species and general tree surgery techniques. Good written and verbal communication skills are also essential for this role. The successful applicant will also need a high level of attention to detail and the ability to analyse complex information. The role requires flexibility, as the successful applicant will work across a wide range of tasks. The successful applicant will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. These skills are required to continue to meet the high expectations of our Councillors and residents.

    The post holder will be required to work 20 hours per week between Monday to Friday. The shift pattern will be agreed with the successful applicant.
