We are looking for someone to join our friendly and vibrant team to help provide engaging experiences for visitors at our busy museums. You will need to be keen to roll up your sleeves, have a strong dedication to delivering exceptional customer care through teamwork, flexibility and hard work in a friendly environment.

Really good local knowledge would be an advantage, as would an interest in local history. You will need to be able to work between our sites and be happy to work weekends and occasional evenings.

This can be a physically demanding but rewarding job, which can sometimes mean being on your feet talking to people all day.

Some of the duties of this role include:

  • Engaging with visitors to ensure that the museum is a welcoming and enjoyable place to visit.
  • Supporting all museum operations and activities to ensure visitors gain the best possible experience of their visit to the museum.
  • Working within the reception, shop, café and other public areas.
  • Ensuring the security of the museum, collections, staff & visitors.
  • Cleaning exhibits and public areas.
  • Supporting the care and presentation of the collections.

You will ideally have experience:

  • Working in a public-facing role.
  • Providing outstanding customer care.
  • Cash handling.
  • Working in a museum/heritage/retail and/or catering environment.
