
Move On (Prevention) Officer

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Move On (Prevention) Officer to join our Housing Services Team. In this vital role, you will provide tailored move‑on and resettlement support to homeless households living in interim and temporary accommodation. Your work will help households to secure long‑term housing solutions, while supporting them to build the skills and independence needed to maintain successful tenancies.
You will play a key part in preventing homelessness, reducing time spent in temporary accommodation, and helping residents access the right support at the right time.
This role also includes responsibility for rental income management, arrears prevention, and enforcement activities relating to interim and temporary accommodation.
We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and organised professional who is confident working directly with vulnerable households. You should have excellent communication and ICT skills, experience of supporting customers in housing need, and the ability to balance supportive engagement with firm but fair income management and enforcement duties.
You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, and be motivated by helping individuals and families to find long‑term housing solutions.
To be considered for this post you should have a knowledge and understanding of housing law, especially in relation to homelessness and income management, as well as an understanding of the welfare benefits system. You must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
We are a small local authority developing new and progressive approaches to housing service delivery. You will have exposure to a wide range of housing practices in your role and have an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience in many areas of local authority housing operations. In addition, we will offer training and support to further your personal and career development.

Salary range
