
Minibus Driver & Lifeguard Support
Job introduction
Hill Park School is a multi-site special school catering to pupils aged 4–16 with a wide range of needs, including moderate (MLD), severe (SLD), and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). Many of our pupils also have a diagnosis of autism spectrum condition (ASC), complex medical needs, or physical disabilities.
We are seeking a reliable and flexible Minibus Driver to join our dedicated team. The role involves transporting pupils and staff to various offsite activities, including regular swimming sessions. As such, the successful candidate must be willing to undertake a lifeguard/swimming qualification to support these sessions in a dual capacity.
Paid weeks per year: 47.36 (inclusive of holiday entitlement)
Fixed term: Until 31 August 2026
Start date: As soon as possible
About the role
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport pupils and staff, including those who use wheelchairs, using one of our five school minibuses.
- Conduct routine daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks on all school vehicles.
- Support the premises team with general site duties when transport responsibilities allow.
What We’re Looking For:
- A responsible and personable individual with suitable driving experience and holds D1 on their driving licence (experience in a special school setting is welcome but not essential).
- Someone who is flexible, resilient, and committed to pupil safety and wellbeing.
- A team player who is willing to undertake additional training, including lifeguard certification.
You will report to the Site Manager and be part of a warm, friendly, and supportive school community that values teamwork and care.
