Midday Supervisory Assistant

Hours: Part Time – 5 hours (1 hour per day, 12:00-13:00) Term Time Only (38 weeks)

Contract: Fixed Term Contract until August 31st 2026

Salary: NJC1 SCP2 – (FTE - £24,413) £2,827.14

Deri Primary School is seeking to appoint one Lunchtime Supervisor to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils during lunchtime breaks, in accordance with the practices and procedures of the school. A reliable and professional person is required for this demanding and rewarding role within the school.

Lunchtime supervisors are very much a part of the staff team and central to the school. The successful candidate will have a calm and positive manner with children and will assist in promoting positive behaviour.

The successful candidate will possess good communication skills and enjoy working with children. They will understand the importance of confidentiality and ensure that any concerns are reported in line with safeguarding procedures.

Duties include:

  • To supervise children during the lunch break
  • To supervise children in the playground
  • To manage children’s behaviour positively, in line with the school’s behaviour and relationships policy
  • To maintain confidentiality
  • The successful candidate will be expected to undertake additional first aid training to support the role.
