We are recruiting a Midday Supervisory Assistant at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 6.25 hours per week

Working Weeks TTO: 38 Weeks
Contract Type: Part Time, TTO, Fixed term until 31st August 2026
Location: Cwmaber Primary School

We pay an attractive salary of £12.65 per hour and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The Governing Body of Cwmaber Infants School seeks to appoint a Midday Supervisory Assistant to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils during lunchtime breaks, in accordance with the practices and procedures of the school. A reliable and professional person is required for this demanding, but rewarding role within the school. The midday supervisors are very much a part of the Cwmaber team and central to the school.

The successful candidate will have a calm and positive manner with children and will assist in promoting positive behaviour. You must have good communication skills and enjoy working with children, you must also have a commitment to making lunchtimes a happy time and will be keen to engage pupils in play activities.

Duties include

  • To supervise children during the lunch break To help children eating their school dinner or packed lunch
  • To supervise children in the playground
  • To supervise children in their classes during inclement weather To play games and undertake activities with the children
  • To deal with minor accidents and injuries and administer some First Aid To manage children’s behaviour positively To maintain confidentiality To safeguard all pupils
