    Job introduction

    City Academy Whitehawk is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Midday Supervisory Assistant on a fixed term, part-time basis until 31/12/2026.

    The purpose of this role is to work as part of a supportive team to ensure a positive lunchtime for all pupils. Positive behaviour at lunchtimes is essential to productive learning in our afternoon session and our Midday Supervisors play an important part in ensuring this is achieved.

    This role involves the supervision of children eating school or packed lunches whilst keeping the canteen clean and tidy. When children are not eating, you will supervise them indoors and in the playground. You must be willing to engage with children in play activities and also oversee group games in the playground. You may also be asked to supervise small groups of children indoors for alternative play.

    Paid weeks per year: 43.70 (inclusive of holiday entitlement)

    Fixed term: Until 31 December 2026

    Start date: 1 January 2026 or sooner if possible

    • you are passionate about supporting and working with young children
    • you are able to demonstrate a range of behaviour strategies
    • you have experience working with children of various ages from 3 to 11 years old
    • you have a first aid qualification, or are willing to complete the training
    • you have experience working as part of a team
    • you have a calm and patient manner
