Job Description
Salary: £28,344 - £31,719 per annum
Grade: C
Fixed Term Contract – 2 years
37 hours per week
About the Role
As the Mayoral and Members Assistant, you will provide high-level administrative and organisational support to the Mayor and Members, ensuring the smooth running of civic duties, events, and engagements. You will be the first point of contact for the Mayor’s office, managing a busy diary, coordinating events, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated personal assistant support to the Mayor and Members.
- Manage complex diaries, prioritising appointments and engagements effectively.
- Organise and attend civic events, ensuring all logistics are handled with precision.
- Draft correspondence, briefings with accuracy and professionalism.
- Build strong working relationships with councillors, officers, and community representatives.
- Use initiative to anticipate needs and promote the Mayor’s role across the borough.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in a personal assistant or similar role, ideally supporting political members or senior leaders.
- Exceptional diary and event management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with people at all levels.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to see the bigger picture, using initiative to enhance the visibility and impact of the Mayor’s office.
