Social Worker – MASH Team

Wokingham Borough Council is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team – the single front door into Children’s Services and Early Help. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference for children and families from the very first point of contact.

As a Social Worker in MASH, you’ll play a crucial role in processing contacts within 24 hours, speaking with members of the public, professionals, and families to provide detailed analysis and recommendations about next steps. You’ll complete safety planning where required and ensure robust decision-making at the front door, in line with our Threshold document. This is a dynamic role that requires excellent interpersonal skills, strong recording abilities, and a sound understanding of children’s legislation and thresholds. You’ll need to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask effectively, and work collaboratively with partner agencies.

The MASH team works in a hybrid way, with social workers on a rota basis in the office two weeks out of three, so flexibility is essential. You’ll join a multi-agency team that includes representatives from Police and Health, with virtual links to Housing, Probation, Education, and specialist services such as Cranstoun Domestic Abuse & Substance Misuse. Together, we ensure the child’s voice is central to every decision.

Apply today and join a team that puts children at the heart of everything we do.
