Dartford Borough Council operates the Dartford Market, hosting traditional weekly markets on Thursdays and Saturdays. We have a proud market heritage and support traders to deliver an exceptional service to the local community. The Market Supervisor will provide key operational support ensuring site management as well as ensuring Health & Safety is maintained.
Responsibilities
• Keep a highly visible presence to build a strong relationship with the traders
• Key holder responsibilities, including opening/closing the market and managing vehicular movements on the High Street.
• Work with key partners such as the Dartford Town Against Crime scheme and Kent Police to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for traders and customers.
• Consulting with contractors and ensuring efficient waste management and high standards of cleanliness
• Support health and safety processes through fire safety procedures, evacuations and incident management
• Assist with rent management
• Enforcement of rules, regulations, licenses and Council procedures
• Support maintenance and repairs as required.
• A consistent focus on overall customer satisfaction
Essential experience and knowledge
• Good knowledge of health & safety regulations,
• Strong communication skills at all levels, leadership, problem solving, team-work and time management
Desirable
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, & Teams
Salary range
- £27,969 - £30,341 per year
