Are you passionate about the arts and eager to support a thriving cultural scene in Luton? We are looking for a Luton Arts Program Support Administrator to play a key role in delivering a vibrant, two-and-a-half-year initiative funded by Arts Council England, Luton Council, and Luton Rising, and delivered through the Luton Arts and Culture Strategy Group.

In this vital support role, you will provide day-to-day administrative assistance to the Luton Arts team and the Creative Luton steering group. You’ll also help coordinate events and contribute to marketing efforts that promote the Luton Arts Program to a wider audience.

Your responsibilities will include processing payments, tracking program budgets, and ensuring smooth communication and organisation across the partnership. If you're detail-oriented, highly organised, and passionate about supporting arts and culture, we’d love to have you on board.

Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.

About you

We’re seeking a confident and capable Luton Arts Program Support Administrator to join our team in supporting the delivery of a major cultural initiative in the town. This role calls for someone with excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively and assertively with a wide range of people, including the public, partners, and senior managers.

Strong organisational skills are essential, as you’ll be managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines. You'll be responsible for preparing a variety of complex documents, collating information, drafting professional correspondence, and maintaining accurate records to ensure smooth programme operations.

You’ll also support our marketing efforts, including managing social media accounts, writing press releases, and promoting events and activities to diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will be IT confident, with experience using Microsoft Office and online tools, and comfortable working independently using good judgement.

An understanding of equality and inclusion is key, and the ability to communicate clearly and fluently in spoken English is essential. Previous experience in an administrative role is required, as is the flexibility to travel between office locations and programme sites across Luton. If you’re passionate about the arts and excited to support a high-impact cultural programme, we’d love to hear from you.

Application Process

Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare all unspent cautions and convictions; and also any adult cautions (simple or conditional), and spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020). A person’s criminal record will not in itself prevent a person from being appointed to this post. Applicants will not be refused posts because of offences which are not relevant to, and do not place them at or make them a risk in, the role for which they are applying. However in the event of the employment being taken up, any failure to disclose such offence, as detailed above, will result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Authority.

On occasions, we may close a vacancy early due to a very high number of applications being received.
