    This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in advancing the Council’s use of generative AI, turning high-value business challenges into innovative Microsoft Copilot Studio solutions that enhance efficiency, access to information and service delivery.

    Your new role

    Join us at the forefront of digital transformation, designing and delivering innovative AI-powered solutions that improve services for residents and staff. You will develop and enhance Microsoft Copilot and AI agent experiences, connecting them to trusted council data sources and business processes to provide accurate, secure and meaningful support.

    Working across the full solution lifecycle, you will build, test and deploy AI-driven services, integrate automation and APIs, and continually refine performance through prompt engineering and user insights. You'll play a key role in ensuring all solutions are delivered safely and responsibly, with strong governance, information security, data protection and compliance at their core.

    This is an exciting opportunity to shape how AI is used across the council, creating practical, user-focused solutions that drive efficiency, enhance customer experience and support better outcomes for our communities.

    Who is the person summary:

    We're seeking a skilled and innovative professional with experience in Microsoft Copilot Studio, the Microsoft Power Platform and low-code technologies, with a proven ability to design, build and deploy AI-powered conversational solutions. You'll have a strong understanding of Generative AI, prompt engineering, Power Automate integrations and user-centred design, ensuring digital solutions are accessible, intuitive and deliver real value for users.

    You'll be an analytical problem-solver with excellent communication skills, able to translate complex business requirements into practical solutions and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Working collaboratively in an agile environment, you'll champion accessibility, ethical AI principles and continuous improvement, helping the council deliver responsible, user-focused digital services for staff and residents.

    Please ensure that you read the job profile for full details on the post.We offer hybrid working with the expectation to attend the office minimum 2 days a week (pro rata for part time), this remains flexible, depending on the role and subject to business needs.
