We are seeking to appoint a qualified, motivated, and enthusiastic Lifeguard to join our hardworking, supportive, and welcoming staff team.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide continuous swimming pool surveillance
- Carry out recovery of bathers when required
- Deliver first aid as necessary
- Offer general assistance in line with agreed procedures
- Clean the swimming pool and changing rooms
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 08:45am – 15:15pm
- Time included for cleaning the pool and changing rooms
- Term Time Only: 38 weeks plus 5 training days (39 weeks total)
What We’re Looking For:
The successful candidate will have:
- A valid Lifeguarding qualification (NPLQ) and First Aid qualification
- Previous experience in lifeguarding roles, including use of lifeguarding and resuscitation techniques
- Experience dealing with emergencies and administering first aid
- Sound knowledge of swimming pool operating procedures, including water testing and pre-pool checks
- The ability to respond to pool user enquiries, manage misbehaviour, and give and receive clear instructions
- Experience working with special needs children (desirable), ideally within a school setting
- The ability to follow and implement clear health and safety procedures, including pool evacuation procedures
You will be required to attend regular lifeguarding training to ensure your qualification remains valid. This training can be completed as part of your five training days.
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS.

Salary range
- £17,720 - £18,577 per year
