The Role

The Falkland Islands Government Air Service provides an essential inter-island passenger and freight service as well as aerial surveillance of the fishery conservation zone around the islands.

A Licensed Aircraft Engineer is required to join the small maintenance team responsible for the continuous maintenance of the fleet of five BN Islander aircraft. This involves routine and remedial maintenance, repairs and rectification of the aircraft and its associated systems.

The Person

Applicants must hold an EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence with preferably at least 4 years’ experience, Type Rated on BN2B Islander aircraft, and Lycoming 0-540 Engines. Additionally, the applicant must have a minimum of 6 months experience on Islander aircraft logged during the preceding two years. The Package

  • 4 Year Fixed Term Contract, with potential for extension by mutual agreement.
  • Salary Range £35,774 - £41,168; starting salaries will be dependent upon experience.
  • Eligibility for a 25% Gratuity, paid upon successful completion of the contract.
  • 30 Days’ Annual Leave, plus government and public holidays (totalling 41 days’ leave).
