Our Team:
Halton’s Library Service is delivered through four public libraries and as an outreach service across the Borough, this includes the Community Library Service, and the Home Library Service. The Service is an early adopter of new technologies including open source software solutions, embracing innovation to improve customer experiences and financial efficiency. The library service is a key resource for our community, providing access to books, learning opportunities, cultural activity, and information.
This role is primarily based between Runcorn and Widnes Libraries, with a requirement to travel across the Borough if necessary.

Your Contributions:
As a skilled Library Development officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the growth and development of the Library Service, with a strong focus on our digital services and offers.
Some of the main responsibilities of the role include:
• Building strong partnerships and coordinate with teams to successfully deliver library programmes, events, and services
• Planning and delivering initiatives that promote library use, digital services, and community engagement within available resources
• Leading digital services by raising awareness, supporting digital literacy, and providing training and guidance to staff and users
• Using data, user needs, and best practice to shape services, improve performance, and inform decisions
• Supporting service development through funding bids, resource recommendations, and maintaining online and social media presence
