The Post
The Brent Museum and Archives team are an ambitious team with a reputation for delivering high profile partnership projects within Brent.
We want to continue to build and develop our collections, increasing access and collaborate with diverse communities in the borough. If you are passionate about heritage and have an archives background and want work in a team that delivers, then we would like to speak to you.
You will assist the Heritage Collections and Exhibitions Manager to ensure the smooth running of the archives service while feeding into and complimenting the diverse cultural offer at the Library at Willesden Green.&nbsp;
The Person
We want to build and develop our collections and collaborate with the diverse communities in the borough. You will play a key role in promoting Brent’s history and widening access to our important collections. If you are passionate about heritage and have a relevant archives qualification (recognised by the Archives and Records Association) then we would like to speak to you.
You will have worked with historical documents, artefacts and digital assets, have an eye for detail and excellent organisational skills. Experience of supporting events and activities and an ability to supervise volunteers and freelancers is also required. You will need to work some evenings and weekends to cover the search room.
To meet the requirements of the Archive Service Accreditation scheme, you will need a postgraduate qualification recognised by the Archives and Records Association (ARA) or equivalent experience.

<h3>Key responsibilities…</h3>
<ul>
<li>Keeping up to date with digital and ICT developments to ensure the Library Service leverages all suitable opportunities to improve services.</li>
<li>Supporting customers in the use of ICT / digital resources, assisting with queries and providing user training sessions.</li>
<li>Marketing and promotion of the Library Service to increase visits, which includes growing our social media presence and outreach activities within the local community, whilst proactively seeking to develop new partnerships.</li>
<li>Seeking alternative sources of funding e.g. from the Arts Council and preparing applications for funding.</li>
<li>Providing a high-quality service to the public via all service points within Bracknell Forest Borough Council, which will include staffing the Reference Desk at Bracknell Library and answering information enquiries in person, by telephone and digitally.</li>

<h3>Interview date&nbsp;</h3>
Interviews will be held on Tuesday 23rd September 2025
Interviews will be conducted in person, providing candidates with the chance to personally meet the team and experience our work environment. The interview process may include an exercise to test creativity and digital skills.
