We’re looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and energetic Level 3 Playworker to join our team and help deliver exciting school holiday play provision across Blaenau Gwent.

About the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated Level 3 Playworker to join our Childcare and Play Team. This role offers the chance to be part of something new, helping to pilot an innovative service designed to support children, young people, and their families.
You’ll play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment where children can explore, have fun, and thrive. From planning and delivering engaging holiday sessions to encouraging outdoor and nature-based play, you’ll help shape meaningful experiences that inspire curiosity, confidence, and connection.
Through your work, you’ll support children and young people to build friendships, develop skills, and grow in confidence - helping them to reach their full potential and create lasting social connections.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality services and is committed to continuous improvement, ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and families across the community.
Working hours: The post holder will be required to be available for up to 35hrs per week during the school holidays
- Summer 2026 (5 weeks)
- October half term (1 week)
- February half term 2027 (1 week)
- Easter half term 2027 (1 week)
- Planning / evaluation hours (70hrs)

What We’re Looking For
- A Level 3 Playwork qualification or equivalent
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting play
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and flexibly as part of a team
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- A positive, enthusiastic, and reliable approach
- Experience of working with children
Please note: This post is currently funded until 31st March 2027.
The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.
