
Legal Assistant
We are recruiting a Legal Assistant at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Full Time/Fixed Term for 12 Months

We pay an attractive salary of £30,559 - £33,366 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The successful candidate will assist in the efficient and effective provision of Legal Services to the Council, in particular within the Planning, Land, Highways and Housing Division. You will be responsible for providing legal advice on planning, land, and highway matters, with minimum supervision, and draft legal documentation for a wide range of conveyancing matters, including Landlord and Tenant, and Planning and Highway matters.
The role requires you to undertake various land related transactions including conveyancing, Landlord and Tenant matters, easements, boundary queries, preparation of deeds of variation/rectification and compulsory purchase acquisitions and liaising as required with all relevant statutory bodies including the Welsh Government.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- An admitted Solicitor or Barrister or Legal Executive.
- A broad knowledge of the legislation underpinning the divisional services.
- Experience in a legal environment, particularly of conveyancing, land and property law, both in the practice of the law and in administration within a legal office.
- Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings.
