Organisation: Leicestershire County Council

Work Location: Main location Hinckley Library (Wednesdays &Thursdays). Additionally, Coalville Library & Any other locality as required.

Salary: Grade 5 £25,191 - £25,590 per annum (pro rata for part-time) (Pay award pending)

Working Hours: 11.5 hours per week

Contract Type:  Permanent

This vacancy is an opportunity to work for the ESOL Curriculum as a ESOL Learning Support Assistant. 

About the Role

This is an opportunity for appropriately qualified and skilled ESOL LSA candidates to join the enthusiastic, committed, and experienced Leicestershire County Council, Adult Learning Service, ESOL team. We deliver high quality, accredited and non-accredited ESOL programmes to ESOL Learners from a range of cultural backgrounds across Leicestershire County in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

The curriculum team provides learning opportunities to help learners to be able to live in and contribute to a community and to find appropriate employment and enabling them to take a greater part in life in the UK.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.

About you

  • Level 2 or above qualification in both English and maths
  • Basic digital skills including use of emails and web pages
  • Experience of voluntary or paid work with adults with learning disabilities
  • Experience of voluntary or paid work in a learning environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under direction and on own initiative
  • Understanding of the principles of safeguarding

Adult Learning courses are delivered in a variety of venues around Leicestershire and the successful candidate(s) may be required to work in more than one location. 

In addition, we also expect you to share our commitment to our values and to delivering accessible and inclusive services which meet the needs of all of our residents. You will be asked to demonstrate your understanding of these commitments as part of the selection process.
