The Role:

Are you passionate about supporting adults and families to learn together?

Do you enjoy helping parents and carers build confidence, develop everyday skills and support their children’s learning in a positive and inclusive environment?

If so, we’d love you to join our friendly and committed team.

Learning Services Worcestershire is looking for a dedicated Family Learning Tutor to deliver high-quality programmes with adults aged 19+ and their children.

About the Provision

Family Learning courses support adults to develop core skills across a range of areas, including:

  • English and maths
  • STEM
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Healthy eating
  • Sustainability

Courses are delivered in schools and community settings, creating accessible opportunities for parents and carers to engage in learning close to home, in familiar environments. Some delivery may also take place online.

A key feature of Family Learning is that, for part of each session, children join their parent or carer to take part in shared activities. This helps build confidence, reinforces learning and supports families to continue learning together beyond the course.

Our programmes are inclusive, practical and engaging, supporting learners to build confidence, develop new skills and apply learning in everyday family life.

About the Role

As a Family Learning Tutor, you will take responsibility for planning and delivering engaging, high-quality sessions that support adults and families to learn together. You will play a key role in creating inclusive learning environments and supporting learners to achieve their personal goals.

We are recruiting to our established, career-graded tutor pathway:

Tutors – Scale 4: ££21,454 - £22,867

Plan and deliver high-quality Family Learning sessions, supporting learners to engage, build confidence and develop practical skills for life and work.

Senior Tutors – Scale 6: £25,625 - £27,382

Alongside teaching, contribute to curriculum planning, quality improvement and the mentoring of colleagues.

While these roles sit within a wider generic tutor structure, you will primarily deliver within the Family Learning provision. Full expectations are outlined in the job descriptions attached to this advert. Applicants will be matched to the applicable role (Tutor or Senior Tutor) at shortlisting dependent on qualifications and/or experience.
