Temporary maternity leave cover for up to 12 months
We are looking for a Leadership Secretary to provide a full range of secretarial, administrative, information and support services to the Chief Executive and Council Leader, ensuring that they can carry out their duties with maximum effectiveness and to have close co-operation with other senior managers and councillors.
In this key, fast paced role you must have a flexible approach and be able to prioritise competing workloads.
You must be able to work under your own initiative and as part of a team and be forward thinking and have the ability to demonstrate solid administrative experience.
Previous experience as a secretary or in a similar post providing support to senior managers is essential, as is experience of Local Government. You must be a confident communicator, able to liaise with Elected Members, Senior Managers, partner organisations and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Diary Management
- Inbox management ensuring emails are responded to and prioritised daily as appropriate
- Management of emails, letters and phone calls – responding to or delegating as necessary on the Chief Executive and Leader’s behalf
- Administrate and attend meetings as required including agenda preparation, taking minutes and co-ordinating follow up action
- Organise internal/external events and meetings as requested
- Liaising with colleagues across the Council to ensure delivery of the Management Team’s key projects and priorities
Applicants should have RSA III or equivalent and a good level of proficiency in Microsoft software.

Salary range
- £33,699 - £36,363 per year
