We're looking for a Leadership Development Practitioner to take a lead role in designing, developing and delivering our leadership and management development offer across the Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to influence how current and future leaders grow, develop and thrive.

About the Role: As a Leadership Development Practitioner, you'll play a key role in developing current and future leaders across Birmingham Children's Trust. You'll design and deliver leadership and management development programmes, support leaders through coaching and mentoring, and help create clear development pathways that enable colleagues to grow and succeed. Working collaboratively with teams across the organisation, you'll identify development needs and turn them into practical, engaging learning opportunities. What you'll do

  • Design and deliver engaging leadership development programmes for aspiring, new and experienced leaders.
  • Develop a clear, progressive leadership pathway that supports our workforce strategy and organisational priorities.
  • Coach, mentor and support leaders through change, challenge and development.
  • Identify leadership learning needs and turn them into high-quality development opportunities.
  • Work with colleagues, partners and providers to bring innovative and impactful learning solutions to life.
  • Use data, feedback and evaluation to continually improve our leadership offer.
We have been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, following a 2023 inspection. This is a fantastic achievement for Birmingham Children's Trust, with many positive highlights focusing on areas including the quality of staff leadership, partnership working, safeguarding and corporate parenting.

This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.

About you

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals who are committed to making a difference. The ideal candidate will have:
  • A degree in Social Work and you must have completed your ASYE.
  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
  • Experience working with children and families in a social work setting.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • You'll be a skilled learning and development professional with experience of leadership development, coaching, facilitation and programme design. You'll be passionate about developing people, confident working with leaders at all levels, and able to turn ideas into practical, high-quality learning solutions.
  • Most importantly, you'll share our commitment to creating a culture of high support, high challenge, helping leaders to be the very best they can be for Birmingham's children and families.
Additional Information: Interview Dates - Interview Dates are to be confirmed and may be in-person or virtual via MS Teams. Onboarding process: Please note as part of our onboarding process, the successful candidate will be required undergo a series of background checks with Experian including Experian DBS, Experian Right to Work, and Digital ID verification.
