We are recruiting a Lead Therapeutic Practitioner at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time
Location: Ty Pawb, Bargoed

Team: My Support Team (MyST) Regional Therapeutic Service


This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.

We pay an attractive salary of £41,511 - £44,711 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The role of the Lead Therapeutic Practitioner is to provide a high level of professional therapeutic practice using appropriate interventions that are outcome focused and evidence based.

The successful candidate will undertake complex assessments and formulations and recommend appropriate interventions. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective working relationships with networks/wider partners. The postholder will also be responsible for mentoring and professional developmental support, including advice and guidance to less experienced staff.

You will participate in an On Call rota to provide therapeutic support and intervention outside office hours to ensure outcome focused achievements for children, young people and their families.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A relevant Level 6 (Degree) qualification. For example health, social care, youth and community work, teaching or a recognised therapy qualification.
  • An Understanding of children/young people’s physical, intellectual, linguistic, social and emotional growth and development, and understanding of how children/young people learn.
  • Experience of working in a therapeutic way with children and families who have experienced trauma and who have complex mental health needs.
  • Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings
