
Landlord Liaison Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s Housing Options Service for a Landlord Liaison Officer.
This vital role focuses on developing and maintaining strong relationships with private landlords and letting agents to improve access to the private rented sector and help prevent and relieve homelessness. You’ll be at the forefront of our efforts to secure accommodation for those in housing need, supporting the Council’s statutory duties under Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996.

About the Role
As a Landlord Liaison Officer, you will:
- Lead on the procurement of private rented sector accommodation.
- Promote landlord incentive schemes through outreach, events, and forums.
- Build and maintain relationships with landlords and letting agents.
- Support tenancy sustainment and homelessness prevention through home visits and advice.
- Conduct property inspections to ensure compliance with safety and legal standards.
- Assess tenancy deposit bond claims and advise landlords on best practices.
- Attend landlord forums and networking events to strengthen sector engagement.
- Support the Council’s Emergency Plan, including occasional out-of-hours work.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience in a frontline housing advice role.
- Has worked with private landlords and letting agents to secure accommodation.
- Understands homelessness legislation, housing law, and welfare reform.
- Has excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Can write clear and effective correspondence, including final offer letters.
- Is confident using IT systems including Word and Excel.
- Can manage their own workload and work well under pressure.
- Holds a full valid driving licence and has access to a car.
Desirable qualifications include:
- Studying towards or holding a professional qualification in Housing.

Salary range
- £30,689 per year
