We are seeking a highly organised, flexible and reflective class teacher (ECT–M4) who can manage the many demands of a small, dynamic primary school while always prioritising pupils’ safety, learning and wellbeing. This post is particularly well‑suited to an Early Career Teacher looking to begin their career in a supportive, values‑driven school with strong systems and clear expectations.

Job Description
Core Purpose of the Role
To provide high‑quality teaching and learning within a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment, ensuring all pupils make strong progress from their starting points, in line with the Teachers’ Standards, statutory safeguarding guidance and the school’s Christian ethos.
Key Responsibilities
- Set consistently high expectations for all pupils, ensuring strong progress regardless of starting point
- Plan and deliver well‑structured lessons with a focus on writing, spelling, handwriting and mathematics
- Maintain a calm, purposeful classroom where learning time is protected
- Use assessment effectively to identify gaps and misconceptions
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND and those who are disadvantaged
- Take personal responsibility for safeguarding and child protection
- Identify, record and report safeguarding concerns promptly in line with school procedures
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Engage fully in professional development, including ECT induction where applicable
Early Career Teacher (ECT) Support
Early Career Teachers will benefit from:
