Are you ready to inspire and lead a dynamic policy team across two councils at an exciting time for local government?
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Strategy, Policy and Insight manager to join the team at Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils. This is a great opportunity to build and shape teams that will drive strategic planning, policy development, and research activities across both councils, while also working on high-profile policy matters like local government reorganisation.
In this role you will act as the lead officer on strategy and policy, insight and intelligence, integrated service planning, performance and risk management. You will manage, develop and deliver an effective strategy, policy and insight function, working closely with key stakeholders to develop and articulate organisational priorities, and develop strategies, policies and partnerships to achieve organisational objectives.
The successful candidate will be proactive and self-motivated, with demonstrative experience of working successfully in a complex public sector policy and/or insight environment, delivering a range of strategy, policy and insight initiatives. You will hold substantial knowledge of the local government policy environment, strategic and corporate planning, performance management and insight. Your ability to manage teams effectively, build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and communicate clearly and effectively will be key to your success, as will the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
The role is based in Guildford and Waverley’s offices in Guildford and Godalming. Hybrid working is also available.
The role is offered at 37 hours per week on a full time, permanent basis.

Salary range
- £63,580 - £68,572 per year
