
IT Apprentice
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at North Herts Council for an entry-level position within the IT Services team. Duties will include
- Providing 1st & 2nd IT Helpdesk support to the council’s users and elected members via email and telephone as well as some face-to-face contact.
- Supporting the IT Helpdesk Team Leader & IT Network & Infrastructure Manager with delivery of technical projects.
- Working as part of a close team delivering IT services while developing new skills.
- Developing problem solving skills to assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing issues and providing solutions.
- Developing and maintaining excellent customer service skills.
As part of this role, you will study for and complete the “ICT Technician” Level 3 Apprenticeship.
Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject.
The Experience you will bring
You will have strong problem-solving abilities and a keen interest in IT systems and problem solving. You will also possess good communication skills, enabling you to clearly communicate and guide users with varying levels of technical knowledge. In addition, you will demonstrate a proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn, adapt, and work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

We are changing
