
Investment Communications Officer
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person who is looking to advance their career through providing excellent marketing and communication to promote economic growth.
They will create messaging which reaches target audiences including businesses, visitors and local communities to increase pride in place and a desire to live, work or play in Staffordshire.
This full time role will be flexible and hybrid with a requirement to work in the Staffordshire Place 1 office in Stafford, attend events across the County of Staffordshire and work from home (if desired) every week. The majority of time will be normal office hours, but there will be some events which require early or late attendance such as Business Awards and Conferences. The role is based around a Monday to Friday working pattern.
Main ResponsibilitiesBy using your expertise in digital marketing and crafting compelling communications, you’ll play a key role in promoting Staffordshire. Your day will be spent inspiring businesses to invest in the county, and encouraging visitors to experience its renowned attractions.
In this role you'll:
- Act as the primary point of contact for communications related to inward investment and visitor economy marketing initiatives.
- Promote Staffordshire’s inward investment opportunities and visitor economy assets.
- Proactively source, research, create, and secure approval for editorial content.
- Disseminate content across a range of channels, including media outlets, publications, websites, social media platforms, e-newsletters, and digital devices.
- Develop and distribute timely internal communications to partners, stakeholders, and community groups.
- Support the planning and delivery of key promotional events, such as investor forums, tourism conferences, and community engagement activities.
- Source, coordinate, and manage contractors and suppliers such as photographers, designers, web developers, and PR agencies.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communications campaigns and activities.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Relevant degree and/or professional qualification (or equivalent) in communications, media, marketing, public relations or journalism, or relevant experience.
- Demonstrable experience of working in a press office or media environment
- Proven ability to write and edit content for the web, social media and e-newsletters, generate press coverage and respond effectively to enquiries
- Proficient in using social media channels, Word Press and general IT packages.
- Ability to communicate to a range of stakeholders both verbally and in writing
- Customer service skills including interacting effectively and professionally with external and internal customers

Salary range
- £39,152 - £44,075 per year
