About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Information Governance Officer to join our friendly, supportive team at London Borough of Redbridge. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the Council meets its legal and regulatory obligations in relation to data protection, information security, and records management.
You will support the delivery of our Information Governance Framework, working across departments to promote best practices, manage data protection risks, and provide assistance and guidance to staff across the Council on information requests under FOI, EIR, and Subject Access provisions.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
We're looking for someone who is:
- Knowledgeable in UK data protection and information rights legislation.
- Experienced in handling FOI, EIR, and SARs in a public sector or similar environment.
- A strong communicator with excellent organisational and analytical skills.
- Able to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Ideally holding or working towards a relevant qualification (e.g., ISEB/CIPP/E or equivalent).

Salary range
- £44,331 - £47,532 per year
