The Information Governance Team is looking to recruit to three two-year fixed term posts within the team, focussed on supporting the rights of children and adults under UK GDPR (UK General Data Protection Regulation) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

This role offers valuable experience in core public sector services and supports career growth. Successful candidates will receive targeted training in all supported information governance activities.

Experience in information governance and data management principles is required, along with knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The ideal candidate can build rapport, communicate well with requesters, meet deadlines, work systematically, and handle highly sensitive data.

The post holder will be primarily responsible for:

  • Case management and completion of Subject Access Requests (SARs) within statutory timescales.

There are also opportunities to be involved in:

  • Coordinating responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and ensuring statutory timescales are met.
  • Assisting with requests to exercise other individual rights on personal data.
  • Supporting security incident investigations.
  • Assisting with development of information governance policies, procedures, information sharing agreements and privacy notices
  • Various administration tasks dependant on the demands of the services

Although the posts are based at County Hall, Matlock, currently we have hybrid working arrangements in place, which means there are opportunities to work from home, subject to business need, and once fully trained.

Flexible or part time working patterns can be considered.

For further information regarding the post or to have an informal discussion, please contact Martin Stone, Team Manager, Information Governance Team, Digital Services, County Hall on martin.stone@derbyshire.gov.uk

Provisional Interview Date: 18 December 2025

Due to this post having administrative privileges within the Council’s IT systems, and in order to comply with the Public Services Network requirements, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Basic criminal record check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
