    Job introduction

    Elm Grove Primary School requires a dedicated, compassionate and enthusiastic Individual Needs Assistant/ Teaching Assistant from Monday to Friday, 8:45 – 12:30pm, and then potentially undertaking the midday role from 12:30-13:00.

    Contract type: Temporary for 6-12 months with a view to making permanent

    Grade:
    Teaching Assistant Level B NJC Scale 4a point 9/10, pro rata
    Midday Supervisor NJC Scale 3 point 7/8, pro rata

    Hours per week: Mornings only 18.75 per week (plus a possible 2.5 hours on MDSA rate) Monday-Friday

    Paid weeks per year: 47.36 (Up to 5 years’ service) or 47.99 (Over 5 years’ service) – TA role, 43.89 (Up to 5 years’ service) or 44.48 (Over 5 years’ service) – MDSA role inclusive of holiday entitlement.

    Start date: ASAP after interview week commencing 19/01/26

    About the role

    You will be required to work at the school, currently in KS1 or KS2, providing support primarily with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) pupils in a 1:1 or small group capacity as well as occasional general assistance in the classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with SEND pupils as well as with teachers, other assistants and the wider Inclusion Team. There may also be the potential for you will also join our lunchtime supervision team on a separate contract, working 2.5 hours per week on an MDSA rate (NJC Scale 3)

    • To provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs to help them access the curriculum and wider school life.
    • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies as required.
    • Collaborate with class teachers, SENDCo and external specialists to support pupil progress
    • Promote positive behaviour and social interactions.
    • Monitor and record progress, contributing to review meetings as required.
    • Foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
