Are you ready to take on a crucial role in our busy ICT team?

We are looking for someone who will play a key role in delivering robust, high quality ICT services across the Council. This hands-on technical role involves close collaboration with the ICT Technical Team Leader and serves as an escalation point for 1st Line Support colleagues and is an exciting opportunity to be involved in supporting future technology to the Council and its customers.

Some of your key responsibilities would include

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, servers, and network infrastructure for uninterrupted service.
  • Supporting server and network systems, IP Telephony, and Contact Centre reliability.
  • Managing software updates to ensure system security and efficiency.
  • Keeping accurate records of ICT assets and ensuring only approved software is used.
  • Collaborating with external suppliers to fix faults with thorough documentation.
  • Assisting in ICT projects, upgrades, and implementations, including out-of-hours working

If you have knowledge and experience of ICT support, especially with Windows desktop/server OS, strong Microsoft 365, Teams, and third-party app knowledge and have skills in networking, backups, antivirus, firewalls, and infrastructure, we’d like to hear from you. Do you also have strong problem solving skills, an effective communication style and experience in Incident, Problem, Change, Asset, and Security Management (ITIL preferred)?

We’re an ambitious, forward-thinking Council with strong values and a culture of doing our absolute best to serve our customers. We are proud of our organisational culture and receive positive feedback from our employees. We have a programme of internal activity to ensure that the voices of our employees are always heard and that they are kept informed on all Council activity and events. From roadshows to an annual award ceremony, from reviewing working arrangements to our Hug in a Mug initiative, it is incredibly important our employees are shown how valued they are and that they remain the beating heart of our workplace.

We offer:

  • Enrolment in the career average local government pension scheme.
  • Flexi scheme.
  • Hybrid working.
  • A generous annual leave entitlement starting at 26 days and increasing with service.
  • Family-friendly benefits.
  • One days’ paid volunteering leave per annum
  • Lifestyle benefits platform.
  • Funded health cash plan.
  • Free car parking to June 2026
  • £10 a month gym membership at one of our four gyms in the district.

You will be working with a professional, committed and experienced team who are passionate about supporting us to deliver the objectives as outlined in our Community Plan.
